Her scalp fixes with pale wiry brambles, and her austere features slot with amber for eyes. Her gaze is full of ignorance, a leporine confusion that reaches her ears, and yet she looks on with the whetstone wiles of a creature born and bred in the ancient jungle depths. Things that she should know, she knows not. Things that she should not know coil and slide from between her teeth. Her voice knells mellow, thickened by an acute tongue that still tangles with barbed vines, tempered mildly by a Common language.
